You may be wishing to donate car to charity or some of your other belongings. It can be hard to choose on as there are so many that help many people all over the world. One that you may want to consider is the military order of the purple heart.

This is an organization which was set up in 1932. Chartered by congress the organization is there to support and protect the best interests of all military personnel who during their time spent in combat, received a Purple Heart, or to the families of those who died during combat.

The Purple Heart medal is a medal of honor. It is only given to those who sustain personal injury during combat. If a member of the military dies as a result of combat, then their family is also awarded a Purple Heart.

The organization raises money in order to give support to those veterans who gained a purple heart, or the family left behind due to a death in combat. They offer free counseling for those who require it, and help when it comes to finding and applying for benefits. The Purple Heart will also give support to disable and handicapped veterans, and make sure their outreach program can help veterans who live in remote areas.

The way they raise money is by accepting Purple Heart donations. This can include all items of clothing, pieces of furniture, cars, and boats. They will also accept gift donations. All the goods that come into the care of the Purple Heart are then sold on. The money that is raised goes into the programs and directly helps the veterans and their families.

If you are having a clear out, you can contact your local Purple Heart office and see if they are accepting donations. In the case of furniture, not all States are able to accept your generous offers. They may be able to suggest another nonprofit organization that will, or you could ask your local charities.

They request that when you arrange a donations pick up that you have several bags or boxes to collect. This makes the cost of the collection worthwhile. All donations to the Purple Heart are tax deductible, so it is recommended you make a record of all donations, and where possible also obtain a receipt. The amount you can deduct will be the fair market price of the goods. This will be the amount the buyer is happy to pay, and the amount that the seller is happy to sell the goods for.

When you no longer fit into your clothes, or if you upgrade your car or furniture consider donating to the military order of the purple heart. You can do some good for veterans who were injured during their time in combat for their country. It also makes a clear out easier for you as they will collect the items themselves, and you can be happy knowing that your old items are not going into a landfill. It is good for everyone.
