1. Donating cars involve the most steps when giving to the Purple Heart. A form needs to be filled up on the website and mailed to Purple Heart donations. One may also call the number listed on the website and a representative from the towing company will then call back to arrange a date for the car to be towed. Within 30 – 90 days, the donor will receive a receipt that can be used in the future income tax filing.
2. Money can be donated as well. All that the donor needs is a valid credit card and donations can be made on the website. A memorial gift can also be donated this way.
3. Clothing donations are done by contacting the local chapter of Purple Heart and making arrangements for pick up. All donations should be boxed and packaged properly. Donors can then mark the boxes and wait for the drivers to pick them up. Keep in mind that a minimum number of boxes may be required for pick up and some items are not allowed to be donated.
